I mean sure, he has ethical concerns. But especially with the mass surveillance part, it's simply a good business decision. Claude's bread and butter are millions of developers who are overwhelmingly opposed to government surveillance activities. Giving that up so that Hegseth can do a few more war crimes before he gets fired in 2027 after the midterms for being a drunken idiot is not worth the enormous hit to Anthropic's credibility across its primary customer base.
