The article seems very hypey. Most is just the standard talking points, and the same dumb issues that keeps getting VC and market hyped.

Not much of an Apple fan, yet it's pretty doom and gloomy for not much.

They're not developing AI enough. Except a scan through HN and many other sites is little other than negativity about where AI has moved to in the last several years. Horrible implementations. Horrible uses. Nightmarish applications. A lot of cases, not much actual money either. Cannibalizing their own business models in many cases. They're apparently building some factory in Houston anyways. https://archive.ph/CsTWu

The iPhone will cost too much. Little reason for a automobile final assembly style phone "made in America" to cost $3000. A day late and a dollar short after decades of Shenzen. Maybe during the first Trump presidency. Lots of ways to move parts around to dodge tariffs. It was Apple's immediate response anyways. "They're not Chinese phones. Now they're Indian phones." Meh. There's also 7,800,000,000 other consumers. A lot have way more discretionary income than a decade or two ago, while Americans have less.

Way too much focus on a single product line anyways. Really issue is it's just been iPhone++ for years. And they're still consistently capturing most of the profit that actually emerges from the sector. Chart somebody posted a while back that had it at near 100%, because most participants were losing money per phone. Samsung's one of the only other's that reliably makes "some" profit per device.

It's all the same issues its been everywhere with this administration. Apple announces AI plant in Houston, it's a bunch of “Thank you Tim Cook and Apple!!!” and “We’re seeing the beginning of a very powerful important plant” and then shortly after threats and threats. Classic abusive relationship behavior. Almost see the wife beater T and possessive grabbing.
