Ask HN: Web Analytics in 2025

What's the current best-in-class, balancing usability and reliability with cost? I'm looking for:

- Funnels - Heatmaps - <$15/month (at very low usage to get started)

Previously I've used GA but there's no heatmap. Amplitude has both, but funnels are only on the "Growth" enterprise plan.

I don't think there is "best", there are better-suited choices for your specific use-case and you have to consider:

   * budget/pricing
   * traffic volume (e.g. 5k visitors/mo vs 5 million/mo)
   * team size (do you have a big team that can dive into complex dashboards and create complex reports, or you just want pre-made stats that are easy to understand?)
   * privacy (self-hosted vs cloud service)
   * features that you want (web analytics, product analytics, recordings, heatmaps, events, a/b testing, etc.)
   * multi-domain (do you want to track only one domain or you have many websites)
   * cross-platform (do you want to only track websites, or web apps and even native apps or server events).
Maybe my https://uxwizz.com platform is what you are looking for? it comes with both stats and heatmaps/recordings. It is self-hosted only (so more private, but you need to run it on your own server). It is tailored more for small to medium businesses (simpler to understand interface and also optimized for up to 500k-1m monthly sessions).
