A 7-24W laser at basically any wavelength will instantly burn the camera sensors out of these pods (and any other surveillance camera for that matter) - and are easily operable on drones or other RC aircraft operating in public airspace.
Fearful of crime, or of the "law of unintended consequences"?
These clownish morons.
...I'm bereft of words. The nominative determinism here is awe inspiring. A company known as Sauron is designing a system that is being billed as a protective measure, and the clientele are current members of the tech elite.
...Jesus. well... They ain't making it difficult are they? It's like naming your company Moloch or Mammon. K. Gotcha.
There is no escape. The builders of their defences are among those who are not well off.
> Sauron is still figuring out how to incorporate drones, but it is already imagining more aggressive countermeasures, Hartz said. βIs it a machine that could take out a bad actor with a bullet or something?β
I can already anticipate what's going to happen.
1. Some passerby or their dog is gonna get terminated.
2. Sauron/homeowner will be sued.
3. No one will go to jail.
4. People will get angry.
5. More people are going to want Sauron on account of the continued social unrest (caused by passerby/pup getting terminated).
6. Repeat steps 1-5.
