It’s a useful feature! Any idea when it will come out of alpha? Any feedback how it works in the current format?

Tailscale is one of the best functioning pieces of software in my infrastructure. I noticed that applications that involve networking often include a half-baked component on networking. It is better to separate the networking from the application, and have an application dedicated to secure networking. Once the connectivity is properly taken care of, the door is opened to many other applications.

Sharing this because I haven’t seen it on HN yet. Some ways in which it’s better than « why not just start a webdav server »:

- usage is uniform on all platforms through the tailscale cli or platform specific integration (iOS taildrive shows up in system files app)

- ACLs makes managing permissions a breeze

- no need to think about ports/vpns/configuration, it just works
