The Macbook Air M1 will probably go down in history and live a long life:

- perfect size for portability (the last actual "Air" design instead of Macbook Pro Lite)

- good UI (display / keyboard / best trackpad)

- no notch

- excellent speakers (for the size)

- USB-C (TB3/USB4)

- Wifi6 & BT5

Who knows about the future but this has to last at least as long as the 2012 Macboook Pro, which is still good.

Big question is: how long Apple will have software support for Apple Silicon machines? Here's hoping "indefinitely" as their environmental promise might actually hold them to it. And if not, Asahi Linux has been kicking ass since 2020

I’ve seen similar upgrades done to iPads and iPhones. But is this type of service available to any consumer and what is the cost?
