The Verge interviewed Alan Yeung (a former Foxconn executive who was in charge of the Wisconsin project).

Very interesting interview. If he's to be believed, Foxconn dropped the project because they didn't like that Evers won the election. Or, at least, that's what he implied.

Man, they seized people's land and tore down their houses for those. Some of those people fought back hard and lost, can't imagine how they feel about this.

Frames the local issue beautifully. Check the date also. There's definitely more to how bad this went than regional or federal politics.
