Turn off all push (almost all: my email client polls hourly, if I'm on the laptop)

Replace with pull (as pull as possible: eg, I pull from HN via https://hnrss.org/ and newsboat, so things aren't presented multiple times)

My big side project right now is YOShInOn which is a smart RSS reader. Today it ingested nearly 2000 articles, picked out 300 for me to look at, I might really look at 200 of them. The main interface looks like ‘TIkTok for text’ or like Stumbleupon. If you look at the articles that I post to HN almost all of them were picked by me working together with YOShInOn.

Right now I am tuning up the duplicate article detector (as much as I want to dev for Apple Vision I don’t need 30 articles about it) and I need to build a search interface for things I’ve favorited, with that it will be worthwhile to build a bookmark let to import individual articles, …

A similar system could filter other streams, I really want to remove angry toots from my mastodon stream and ideally make YOShInOn become a personal agent that takes a look at everything before I look at it.
