There are so many fascinating stories about real things that happened. So much that was lost. It's always stunning to read these stories, or things like Marco Polo's travels - people really could travel thousands of miles and see things and survive? There was all these intermixing of cultures that it's hard to account for in the modern world.

Is there a full translation available? The 7th century was a momentous century for India. The golden age of Maurya's was over, Buddhism was at it's peak, Adi Shankaracharya was challenging it and the Islamic invasions were just starting. It would have been a fascinating time to visit India.

I don't know why, but I find this super cute in a naive way, like something a 5 year old would say. But I guess that was state-of-the-art weather science back then!
