I wonder if this is really more of an easy way to downsize their workforce without having to deal with severance. They did it once before with their "back to the lab" initiative, where remote employees were terminated if they didn't return to a physical office.

I am vaccinated but I might change jobs if my employer thinks he can make health decisions for me. You don't want this to even start. It seems government and society in the anglospere are a bit overwhelmed.

And suspended for how long exactly?

They probably determined that their older workers were more likely to refuse the vaccine. Another way to discriminate against a protected class.
