Seen these kind of threads from time to time, and I've got some great recommendations from them.

I'll start:

* Re-reading Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson. I had forgotten the story leading up to Rhythm of War. I had forgotten how fun Sanderson's world is.

* Just finishing up Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Great book. I didn't read Artemis, but The Martian was awesome.

* Grit by Angela Duckworth. Really speaks to me and has me re-examining my own loss of focus and tenacity in pursuits, and my expectations of how long achievement takes.

I'll probably pick a few more once I'm done with these.

I am reading The 48 laws of power by Robert Greene. It is a book containing historical anecdotes regarding different attitudes and behaviours one should be aware if if one embarks on a quest for power. I am half way through it and so far it is certainly an interesting read. While in todays society ( perhaps in all ages? ) the advice there would be shunned, I perfonally find it very interesting a enjoy applying, at least in part, the lessons learned by reading this book.

If I could give it a short description, it's pretty much the modern equivalent of The Prince and i highly reccomend it to everyone!
