Ask HN: What best practices and things to include to children at early age?
I've been thinking about the best ways to developer my new-born(5m+) What are some best practices you wish you had started with your child when they were young? Brain development skills, character development, daily routines, toys, kids story books etc.
Just to add our current situation but not the only reason to post this in HN: My daughter is just 3 months old. Due to COVID-19 she never went outside and I think it will be difficult to take her freely outside and we may not socialize like normal time with other kids and parents for atleast another 6 months:(
Compassion and empathy. Practice daily.
Also probably cease thinking like this "I've been thinking about the best ways to developer my new-born(5m+)". Your kids not a project...its another person. Love it and nourish like one, not like a project your developing.
Remember to explicitly teach all the skills that you implicitly learned, such as how to start and carry on a conversation, or how to forgive someone, or how to celebrate failure.
Set the example. Do the things that make a person a good person. The best thing you can do for children is to set the example.
