It sucks so badly.

They made it incompatible with version 4, and removed many names that people are used to to "clean up the code".

They put their needs ahead of their users', and that sucks.

Personally, I love it. I've had an extremely pleasant experience during the Pro-backer "beta" program and look forward to additional updates. Granted, I'm using the SVG framework provided by the NPM package import only the required icons into a reusable React component. The new NPM framework supports tree-shaking so it's nice to not have to include all of the icons if I'm not even using them.
